Amber Joy Poulton
"BIG HOPES FOR "RUBY'S REPLY" WITH A TOP 5 ENTRY INTO THE AUSTRALIAN COUNTRY MUSIC CHARTS FOLLOWING "GOODBYE FROM ME" TAKING THE NO.2 SPOT"
Amber Joy Poulton's new album, Pretty Pennies
acquired its name from a lyric in track 7, "Jenny’s Song", but the title became more meaningful as time went on.
“Find a penny, pick it up” is the perfect way to describe this collection of music.
This album incorporates new songs co-written with amazing friends but also stories & memories from many moons ago, written over the years by Amber Joy & then left by the wayside, unloved & uncompleted.
Pretty Pennies is a collection of songs both written & co-written by AJ & friends Sam Hawksley, Kelly Brouhaha & Doug Bruce & enlisted the help of some friends along the way in vocal collaborations with Australia's favourite country stars Beccy Cole & Felicity Urquhart.
After the huge success of "How It Used To Be" with a Number One hit with Trouble Looks Good On You on the Australian Country Music Charts PLUS a clean sweep of the country awards pool with 3 nominations in the Southern Stars Australian Independent Country Music Awards for her successful album, the pressure is on.
Female Vocalist Of The Year
Country Single Of The Year
Country Album Of The Year
The new album promises to be a thoughtful songwriting journey where Amber joins forces once more with her producer & co-writer Sam Hawksley and a new co-writing partner in SA singer/songwriter & Beccy Cole touring band member - Kelly Brouhaha. There are many surprises on this album including an autobiography of AJ's life so far & a special song that has been 10 years in the making.
Amber Joy has kept true to her promise & love of country music's old school feel & forever channels her idols Loretta Lynn, Tammy Wynette, Patsy Cline & Dolly Parton when writing & performing & promises you'll love these news songs just as much as you loved "How It Used To Be".
And, she's coming to a town near you with her hugely successful theatre show
Amber is possessed by traditional classics, how country music ‘used to be’ & is currently channeling Loretta in her successful touring production Coal Miner’s Daughter.
She has toured extensively throughout Australia & overseas with Nashville, Norfolk Island & the high seas aboard Cruisin' Country for three extraordinary cruises as well as her yearly trek to Tamworth & country music festivals like Boyup Brook, Gympie Muster, Mildura, Horsham, Riverland & more but it's her touring the country with theatre show Coal Miner's Daughter that has garnered fans from every performance with her astounding ability to put down the songwriting cap & take on the role of Loretta Lynn in theatres all over Australia. Coal Miner's Daughter back in 2023/24
Multi awarded, look alike songstress, Amber Joy Poulton is touring Coal Miner’s Daughter featuring the mega-hits and stories of inspirational pioneer and superstar Loretta Lynn
“Loretta is a superstar who rose from humble beginnings to be recognised as the first Queen of Country and first female Entertainer of the Year. She was married at 15 with 4 children at 19 and a grandmother at 29. Her first hit, Honky Tonk Girl, was recorded when she was 25 and led to an invitation from the Grand Ole Opry, where she played for 17 weeks straight. Loretta came to the attention of her idol, Patsy Cline, and their close friendship is beautifully portrayed in Coal Miner’s Daughter.
